Optimising and supporting female health

Take control of your hormonal and reproductive health to optimise your mood, energy levels and overall well-being

A personalised approach with a comprehensive and evidence-based nutrition, supplement and lifestyle plan to reach your health goals

A sustainable diet for female health

As a certified nutritional therapist (mBANT), I promote women’s hormonal and reproductive health through personalised nutrition and lifestyle support. I believe in a whole-body approach and to create a personalised plan that is tailored to your goals and lifestyle while addressing the underlying cause of imbalances.

All my work is evidence-based and I prioritise a more educational approach to allow my client to build confidence in making healthier food choices and to gain knowledge in understanding how food impacts her health.

Not only do I guide the client through nutrition and lifestyle changes, but my approach is also to make sure that the client is set up for success in the kitchen with simple recipes and tools.

Healthy eating should be sustainable, simple and fun.

The link between nutrition and women’s health

Hormonal and reproductive health

It is believed that as many as 80 % of women suffer from some type of hormonal imbalance and about 30 % experience severe reproductive health issues (Public Health England, 2018).

Unfortunately, not a lot of women receive appropriate help mainly due to a lack of support from the health care system and a normalisation of women’s pain and symptoms.. Not only are disorders such as PCOS and endometriosis often overlooked, but symptoms of an imbalance such as PMS, irregular cycles, acne or infertility are poorly misunderstood and treated without understanding the underlying cause.

There is also a need to better support women with nutrition at the stages of preconception, pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Promote optimal health

Women’s hormonal and reproductive health are complex and delicate systems. Any imbalance can trigger a wide array of symptoms such as gut issues, sleep disorders, low energy, mood swings, headaches or skin issues, etc. In addition, going through stages of pregnancy, breastfeeding and menopause can be intense processes and have long-lasting effects on a woman’s physical and mental health.

Supporting your hormonal balance and your body’s specific nutritional needs can help support all aspects of your health. By working closely with you and using a whole body approach, I am able to create a personalised plan to promote and strengthen all aspects of your health.

  • Hormone balancing

Hormones are responsible for essentially every function in our bodies. When hormones are balanced, we barely take notice of them. However, when they are imbalanced, they can impact all aspects of our physical and mental health. A hormonal imbalance may affect blood sugar levels, insulin sensitivity, skin health and the function of the adrenal glands, which control our hormonal health. Natural hormonal changes are being worsened by factors in our diet, lifestyle and environment. It is essential to investigate the underlying cause of an imbalance in order to take control and optimise hormonal health.

  • Fertility, pregnancy and breastfeeding

The right balance of hormones is essential for optimal reproductive cycles, ovulation and conception. Healthy diet and lifestyle is key to balance hormonal health, optimal fertility and healthy pregnancy. Going through bodily changes such as pregnancy and breastfeeding see major fluctuations in hormones. Some women have an enhanced sensitivity to these changes which can lead to fatigue and mood changes. It is essential to support the hormonal transitions that comes with pregnancy, breastfeeding, and ageing. With proper support, there are steps to take to prevent excessive hormonal imbalances to optimise a woman’s wellbeing.

  • Female health

The female body and its hormonal health is complex and its disorders are often ignored, taken for granted and under-researched. If you have symptoms such as digestive issues, PMS, fatigue, irregular cycles, acne, hot flashes, low libido, mood changes, period pains or sleep difficulties, it is important to know that there is help. Nutritional therapy can help to optimise female health and support your symptoms. I will work alongside your GP or other health professionals, to fully understand your health history and create a tailored and suitable plan to support your long-lasting health.
